Hi I am Geert.

One of my passions is travel and I have been traveling since a young age, thanks to my dad working for an airline (Pan Am and later Delta).

I have been active until 2021 for 35 years in the travel industry. First, with American Express Corporate Travel (now known as Amex GBT). Then as the Director for Global Travel, Meetings, Fleet in a leading global pharmaceutical company.

As from 2021, I continue for the same company but now as the Risk & Capabilities Director in the Center of Excellence in Procurement. Retirement is up in 2029 and I noticed that we are approaching travel differently, more selectively.

In 2023, we acquired a place in Andalucia (Spain) where we intend to retire but we still like to travel as well. Our holidays being finite as long as we still work, I started to plan for our travel when we will have more time on our hands.

I am still a relative newbie at blogging since I have not really invested a lot of time in it yet. I am now trying to bring it up a notch, as I also have a Facebook page and a YouTube channel.

We will work on sharing our approach to creating the right value as we are past the age where we want to sacrifice our comfort. At the same time, we plan to fully use and benefit from shoulder season travel, loyalty benefits, etc. and share this with you.
